The TARDIS is dim but warm when she swings her doors open to welcome them home; only when he and Clara are well inside the console room, her still cradled in his arms does the Doctor feel a hiss of cold air shoot down his neck.

He nearly drops his impossible girl.

“Sorry dear,” he says as sincerely as he knows how. “Never again, I promise.”

The responding clang sounds like a disbelieving laugh, but the journey to Clara’s room is at least two turns shorter than normal.

Hi Anon, I definitely saw this question when you sent it to me but I was way too tired to formulate a coherent reply.

I actually just wrote the first section of part 3 last night - now that I’ve started up again finally since coming home the rest should come a bit easier, I’m hoping to finish before classes start up again on Monday, so something to aim for. :P
